Nicholas qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1981, became a full member of the Association of Agricultural Valuers in 1982 (Eastern Area prize winner, 1981) whilst with Olivers of Sudbury. He joined Durrants in 1992, becoming a director in 1994. He has been president of both Norfolk & Suffolk Agricultural Valuers Associations & has been the representative for Suffolk on the Council of the Central Association of Valuers since 2001.
Manager of the Auction Rooms and Property Auction department based at our Auction Rooms in Beccles. Qualified as a RICS surveyor in 2005 and as a member of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers in 2006. As well as being one of the main auctioneers at the auction rooms, Rebecca enjoys all aspects of rural land and property agency and professional valuation work.
Graduated in 2001 & joined Durrants in 2003. Richard became a Director in 2010 and has overseen the move to new offices in Diss & the re-branding of the firm. Richard specialises in agricultural matters, single farm payments, estate management, farm agency, environmental stewardship schemes & all forms of agricultural valuation. He's a member of the CAAV as well as a keen auctioneer - he will sell anything if you put a lot number on it!!
Fiona joined Durrants in 2004 initially working in the Harleston office and subsequently moving to the Diss Office where she undertakes the administration for the Agricultural and Residential departments. She is a keen horsewoman.
A direct descendent of our founder, the original George Durrant, Nicholas studied structural engineering in London for BSc & MSc degrees. He also studied Oceanography in Massachusetts. Nicholas worked in the Middle East & in London for Italian & American companies before joining the family firm at the Harleston office. He became Chairman in 1993 & now specialises in Commercial, Agricultural & Litigation matters.
Chris graduated from The Royal Agricultural College in 2007, joined Durrants in 2010, having worked for Brown & Co in Bury St Edmunds for a year. He is based in the Harleston Office as assistant to Nick Durrant, involved mainly in farm agency, valuations and general professional work. Chris is currently undertaking the Rural Pathway APC.
Claire joined Durrants as an Agricultural Secretary in May 2012. She had previously worked for St. Peter's Brewery as an Office Assistant after finishing Sixth Form in 2007 where she got A-Levels in History, Art, Product Design & an AS Level in Psychology. Claire enjoys cooking, baking & hosting diner parties as well as going to gigs & festivals. Claire also likes keeping fit at the gym.
Diane joined us in 2005 as a part time secretary in the Survey & Valuation Dept., having moved up from Hertfordshire. Diane previously worked at the University of Hertfordshire as Secretary to the Head of Dept. of Physiotherapy, the Daily Mail in London, for a tour operator & as a school secretary. Of her many interests, she is a qualified reflexologist & plays the piano with great enthusiasm but little talent & is also a church bell ringer.
