Nicholas qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1981, became a full member of the Association of Agricultural Valuers in 1982 (Eastern Area prize winner, 1981) whilst with Olivers of Sudbury. He joined Durrants in 1992, becoming a director in 1994. He has been president of both Norfolk & Suffolk Agricultural Valuers Associations & has been the representative for Suffolk on the Council of the Central Association of Valuers since 2001.
Manager of the Auction Rooms and Property Auction department based at our Auction Rooms in Beccles. Qualified as a RICS surveyor in 2005 and as a member of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers in 2006. As well as being on of the main auctioneers at the auction rooms Rebecca enjoys all aspects of rural land and property agency and professional valuation work.
A direct descendent of our founder, the original George Durrant, Nicholas studied structural engineering in London for BSc & MSc degrees. He also studied Oceanography in Massachusetts. Nicholas worked in the Middle East & in London for Italian & American companies before joining the family firm at the Harleston office. He became Chairman in 1993 & now specialises in Commercial, Agricultural & Litigation matters.
